The design concept of the Dali club was created under the influence of investor’s fascination with the outstanding surrealist artist Salvador Dali. His work was the main theme of our project – the interior was to combine modernity, elegance and nonchalance, so strongly visible in the artist’s works.
The arrangement of the building was gradually created and constantly evolved as a result of discussions with the investor. In the project from the beginning, there were motifs taken directly from Dali’s work – we placed a copy of the painting Honey is sweeter than blood on the ceiling, the glass balustrades were decorated with wandering ants, so characteristic for the artist, and over the decorative, nickel-plated doors, a medallion with a sketch rider appeared. In addition, on the walls we hung few copies of some of the paintings and the image of Salvador himself.
The culmination in the interior was the introduction of ascetic, steel structure, rising above the part of the room. Originally it was supposed to be a platform for musicians, but finally, due to acoustic reasons, the space was intended for guests.
Every smallest detail has been designed and selected with great care by the designer Dorota Urbańczyk Wójtowicz, for example the original upholstery of the balustrade grip imitating snake skin. In addition, our team has invited to cooperation a team of professionals. The interior is enriched with carefully selected equipment, such as Kartel furniture – tables and lamps supplied by Metaforma.
The whole creates a universal, intimate and elegant bar space that, despite the passage of time, enraptures and inspires.
